New screening technology has surpassed only being able to screen for genetic disease. There are now tests for abnormal numbers of chromosomes as well. This means that most any genetic abnormality can now be diagnosed as long as DNA from both parents is available. This allows for testing to be conducted on embryos before they are implanted in the uterus. This increases the chances for a normal pregnancy.
Pacific Fertility Center has been participating in pilot studies with Gene Security Network of Redwood City, California. Due to the success of the tests, Pacific Fertility Center now proudly offers this course of testing for couples who want to check for disease.
